Optical pickup for 90mm magneto-optical rewritable disk

A magneto-optical disk drive is used for external memory devices of computers. An ability of compact size, high data transfer rate, and fast access is demanded for drives. An optical pickup for a 90mm magneto-optical disk drive has been developed. The specifications of the optical pickup conform to the ISO standardized 90mm rewritable optical disk. A compact, light weight, and thin pickup is achieved, using a newly designed hologram laser unit, a housing made of PPS (poly phenylene sulfide), a small diameter objective lens, and a newly developed lens actuator.
