Several bleached packaging board producers announced new price levels effective July or August 2000. International Paper Co. (IP) said it would raise transaction prices for all grades by $40/ton effective on or after July 14, 2000. Aside from IP, other companies that confirmed new price announcements were: Westvaco Corp., which is raising cartonboard prices by $40/ton on Aug 1, 2000; Durango-Georgia Paper Co, raising poly-coated and uncoated plate stock by about $50/ton on July 21, 2000; and Blue Ridge Paper Products Inc., which is raising poly-coated cup and plate stock by $40/ton on July 15, 2000.
