A review is presented of the types of flat cable that are available and the connector systems, areas of application and the design of the blade and terminal region. The requirements of MIL specifications and of automotive electronics are considered. Guidelines are offered with regard to the construction of the contact parts. The use of selective techniques for economizing of precious metals is dealt with.
