An fm detector can be constructed for any arbitrary frequency (within the limitation of available double-balanced modulators (DBMs) by combining a D. B. M. with a quarter-wave delay line. Since DBMs can be obtained with R and L parts useful from 2 kHz to 1000 MHz, the technique can be applied over a wide range of frequency.
