Since Alexander Fleming's discovery of Penicillin in 1928, advances in microbiology and molecular biology have enabled and enhanced the production of many molecules used in medicals, alimentary and industrial applications using fermentation processes. The resulting products have become a part of daily life. Industrial fermentation, however, requires reliable, flexible and efficient capital equipment to maximize product yields and hygiene while solving the problem of process waste.
