IN-PLANE VIBRATIONS OF CURVED BARS CONSIDERING SHEAR DEFORMATION AND ROTATORY INERTIA.

The in-plane vibrations of a uniform curved bar of which the center line is a plane curve are investigated considering the bending, the extension, the shear deformation and the rotatory inertia of the bar. The Lagrangian of vibration of the curved bar in a period is obtained and the equations of vibration and the boundary conditions are determined from the stationary condition of the Lagrangian.
