The British Telecom switched-star network is an advanced cable TV network offering a wide range of information and transaction services in addition to multichannel TV and radio. These integrated services provide on-demand interactive access to data, text, still-picture, audio and video information media. The network has been in service since 1985 in London where it is being progressively installed throughout the Westminster franchise area. By the end of 1986 the full range of interactive services described in this paper will be in operation.
