To meet the requirement of real-time analysis and emergency control of power systems, a novel method is proposed to implement the forced real-time communication in real-time control and analysis system for power systems. In this method, the multi-Ethernet topology is adopted in communication net design, and the connectionless UDP protocol is used as communication protocol. The multimedia timer and non-blocking mode is used in software design. The feasibility of forced real-time communication is proved by the tests of real-time performance. A large amount of experiment data shows that the proposed method can satisfy the real-time and reliable demands of power systems.
