摘要
Powder coating or, as it is often called, plastic coating, or even 'dry painting', is the application of a protective or decorative film of synthetic resin to a suitable substrate by means of a fine powder instead of the usual solvent or water carried system. After application by one of several possible methods, the layer of dry powder is subjected to heat. This causes the powdered resin to sinter or coalesce and then, in the case of thermosetting resin systems, to cure. Powder coatings have the distinct advantage of being free of volatiles and being capable of dry application. Specific advantages of epoxy powders include outstanding adhesion, a wide range of chemical resistance, better heat resistance and lower storing temperature.
