The rate equations for elimination of wood residues in kraft pulp during final bleaching with chlorine dioxide have been published in Part 1. This paper deals with the application of these rate equations. Comparison with earlier published rate equations for elimination of chromophores in kraft pulp, shows that final bleaching with chlorine dioxide at a high concentration of chlorine dioxide and at a low temperature promote the cleanliness at a given brightness.
