Contribution to the Refining Metallurgy of High-Melting Metals.

High-melting metals are currently remelted in arch, electron beam, plasma, and ion furnaces. Refining effects of these melting processes are controlled by the crystallization processes at the crystal-melt interface. This paper presents the limiting values of the equilibrium distribution coefficients of the admixtures of the respective base metal, i. e. , W, Ta, Mo, Nb, Hf, Zr, and Ti.
