Pliva's new research institute in Zagreb

Pliva, a successful Zagreb-based pharmaceutical company, is building a new research institute which will border on its old manufacturing plant in Zagreb. The institute will consist of two three-story buildings linked together by a closed atrium. All facades of these buildings will be glassed. The institute will be built and equipped for the state-of-the-art development-oriented testing of medicaments for human and veterinary uses. The reinforced-concrete structure has just been completed and the works in the interior of the buildings have started. All works will be finished in 2001 and the new institute will be, because of its striking appearance, a very noticeable and recognizable landmark of the west portion of Zagreb. By the construction of the new research institute, Pliva is confirming its policy of keeping and developing in urban areas only those facilities that are considered safe from the environmental standpoint.
