Effect of Chlorides on the Hydration Rate and Thermophysical Properties of Stone Consisting of 3CaO multiplied by (times) Al2O3 and 4CaO multiplied by (times) Al2O3 multiplied by (times) Fe2O3.

A study was made of the effect of calcium and sodium chlorides, and of the water-binder ratio on the hydration rate and thermophysical properties of aluminate and aluminoferrite clinker phases. It was established that the hydration rate of 3CaO multiplied by (times) Al//2O//3 is an order of magnitude higher than that of 4CaO multiplied by (times) Al//2O//3 multiplied by (times) Fe//2O//3. Calcium chloride accelerates the hydration of 3CaO multiplied by (times) Al//2O//3 at water-binder ratios equal to 0. 5 and 1. 0 and inhibits the hydration of 4CaO multiplied by (times) Al//2O//3 multiplied by (times) Fe//2O//3 at a water-binder ratio of 0. 5. Calcium and sodium chlorides promote an increase in the effective thermal conductivity of hydrated samples, which is caused by a change in the phase composition of the neoformations.
