摘要
The fundamental mechanism of electrical breakdowns which are clearly related to lives of insulating materials has been studied for a long time. There are few published papers on the fundamental process of the electrical breakdown of polypropylene films despite the fact that they are used widely for the insulating films of present power capacitors. This paper describes the examination of the fundamental mechanism of the electrical breakdown of polypropylene films under a dc voltage and in a temperature range above room temperature which is practically important.
