In the article, a comparison of the approximate methods for solving the problem of plane wave diffraction on a periodic reflecting surface is drawn. These methods are, in essence, different modifications of the method of small inclinations. Formulas are found for the approximate calculation of the surface current. The accuracy of the methods is examined through comparison with the numerical algorithm.
