This report presents recent developments in the control of plastics processing by means of extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and reaction injection molding (RIM). Statistical data on plastics machinery are tabulated. Particular attention is given to automatic profile control and thickness control and programmable controllers. Materials handling equipment in plastics shops is included in this survey. Thermoforming machines and control equipment are also reviewed. The use of robotics is mentioned.
