The key problem of developing multimedia courseware authoring system (MCAS) is how to describe the instruction flow and representation. The generalized transition network (GNT) was introduced, by which static description of instruction flow was performed. The BUAA_MCAS has been developed. The concept of presentation context was introduced to describe instruction presentation content, which has various media information modes, and to construct multimedia courseware environment. The internal data structure was given also. The concurrent presentation of the courseware presentation content was implemented and the presentable object was discussed. Because the description of instruction flow and presentation of instruction contents are separated, it makes the MCAS more flexible.
