Laser tungsten inert-gas hybrid welding process on AZ31B wrought magnesium alloy

摘要
The technical features of laser tungsten inert-gas hybrid welding process were investigated, and the effect of welding parameters on the weld metal geometry was analyzed. The results show that the laser beam can improve the stability and augment the penetration of weld. The weld of magnesium alloy can be obtained without porosity and crack and the tensile strength of the weld can reach to that of the base metal. It was proved that laser tungsten inert-gas hybrid welding is an ideal welding process for magnesium alloy.
