VULCANIZATION CONSIDERATIONS.

This is an abstract of a paper which discussed latex vulcanization and prevulcanization factors which include the inadequate reactivity of free colloidal sulfur alone; the role of zinc oxide as an activator; accelerator selection where cure time, resistance to copper staining, heat resistance, odorless and tasteless products, clear films, or latex foam modulus are considerations; the insubstantial leaching of liquid dithiocarbamates from spread films as assessed by chi square treatment of tensile strength data before and after leaching; precure rates and maturation during latex storage; etc.
