In the temperature range from 900 to 1100 degree C Sm//3NbO//7 crystals grow very slowly, and the reaction mixture is not a single-phase mixture. It is therefore unfeasible to derive the sintering equation for this range. In the range from 1200 to 1450 degree C the Sm//3NbO//7 sintering equation has the form D**3-D//0**3 equals k tau . The energy of activation of Sm//3NbO//7 crystal growth in this range amounts to 33. 4 kcal/mol.
