摘要
The problem of the buckling of deep foundations is discussed. The experiments described have shown that, in order to observe the buckling of piles it was necessary both for the piles to be very slender and for the soils to be noncohesive. The tests carried out in ordinary soils (sands and clays) have made it possible to confirm the good performance of piles of small diameters (10 to 15 cm) even when they are very slender. Measurements of deformation of the piles by stress gage have made it possible to observe the behavior of the foundation in the course of loading.
