AIRFIELD PAVEMENT LOAD EVALUATION - AN INTERNATIONAL OVERVIE

The objectives of the profession must be the development of a rational evaluation system for which testing, either on site or in the laboratory, can be undertaken quickly, cheaply, and with the least disturbance to aircraft operations. Testing of inaccessible pavements across the world would therefore indicate the need for simple and easily transportable testing devices together with an easily useable method of translating the testing results into reliable pavement evaluations.
