摘要
An optical gage has been developed that accurately measures the outline of hot slabs or plates. Operating speed is fast enough for the gage to be used for on-line automated plate rolling. Compared with sideguide slab measurements, the gage is 5 to 10 times more accurate, reports minimum useful length and width, and does not require slab turning for measuring both dimensions.
