Novel real-time testing system used for large curvature radius

A new method combining the noncontact Newton's ring produced by means of an interferometer with CCD image processing technique is proposed on the basis of analyzing various measuring methods for large curvature radius. Its measuring curvature radius is within the range of 1-25 m. The whole testing system is very compact and will not be limited by concavoconvex spherical surfaces. The theoretical analysis and preliminary experimental results show that the relative error in the measurement of curvature radius ΔR/R is better than 0.3%.
