Neue leit- und schutztechnische Verfahren in der elektrischen Energieversorgung

The operation of electric power systems is carried out from a control centre where all functions concerning monitoring, actuation, control and optimisation are performed. For their implementation the advanced methods of modern information processing technology have to be used. In a long-term research program the German Research Council sponsored projects related to data acquisition, data processing, system monitoring and control, digital protection and fault recording as well as system restoration after large disturbances. This paper describes the state of the art in these fields and the research scope of the above mentioned program.
