摘要
The results of investigations on separation of ethanol-water mixtures by gas extraction are presented. On the basis of phase equilibria, high separation factors result for the gases CO//2 and C//2H//6, as extractants, with respect to the binary system ethanol-water. Because of the relatively low solubility of ethanol in the gas phase, at the low ethanol concentrations which are of interest, high solvent ratios are necessary in the course of a separation process. The results of separation experiments carried out in a bubble column proved that high temperatures are favorable, in contrast to phase equilibria which appear to favour low process temperatures. Finally, further possibilities of separating organic substances form aqueous solutions are pointed out.
