摘要:
In this paper an outline of the development of the design of Burmeister & Wain 2-stroke crosshead engines will be given, a development which has been a gradual and comparatively smooth adaptation to the present situation where energy conservation is the number one target. The success of this adaptation is reflected by the present market situation, where the M. A. N. -B&W Diesel group hold about 50% of a market with only two major and two minor designers of slow speed diesels surviving.
