Laser induced photocurrent transients and capacitance measurements on nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes

A qualitative description of charge carrier separation and charge transport in nanocrystalline, porous, TiO2 is presented. These processes are studied under steady-state conditions by means of action spectra in the UV-region. The transparent nature of these electron allows motoring of the transient absorbance as well as the photocurrent following a ns laser pulses, band gap excitation. The photo-electrochemical behavior of the semiconductor electrodes is further studied by capacitance measurements.
