An extension is discussed regarding an averaging technique for the case of quasi-periodic structures with curvilinear anisotropy, as applied to problems of elasticity written in the displacements. In this paper, the author employ the technique to reduce the static problem of inhomogeneous elasticity in the stresses, utilizing hypotheses of shell theory (i.e., the problem of equilibrium of an inhomogeneous anisotropic shell of quasi-periodic structure to a recursive sequence of problems for a homogeneous anisotropic shell. The authors offer a solution for the problem of equilibrium of a shell formed by a winding or coil that is acted upon by internal pressure.
