An original equivalent circuit, based on the generalized transmission line model (GTLM) theory, is derived for the input impedance computation of a slot-coupled cylindrical-circular microstrip antenna. The theoretical results are compared with measurements, and the accuracy of the results is discussed. Both the cylinder size and the coupling slot length are found to have significant effects on the input impedance of the antenna.
