摘要
The gas cooled high temperature reactor (HTR), which is characterized by a high degree of inherent safety and environmental compatibility, will make a substantial contribution to cover the future energy demand of the Federal Republic of Germany. As a dual-cycle plant with steam turbine the high temperature reactor constitutes an economic alternative to the light water reactor. In addition there is the development potential of connecting the HTR to a gas turbine in a direct cycle and of using it for generation of process heat at a high temperature level. These developments will, on the one hand, lead to an improvement of economics and, on the other hand, open up additional possibilities of application on the heat market.
