REACTION OF RADIATION-INDUCED DEFECTS WITH HYDROGEN IN OPTICAL FIBER.

摘要
The chemical reaction of diffused H//2 with gamma -ray induced defects has been investigated for a GeO//2-doped fiber. Diffused H//2 reacts with gamma -ray induced Ge-associated defects to form hydrogen-associated defects having 11. 9 mT hfs. In addition, gamma -ray induced defects cause H//2 to change to OH at room temperature. In gamma -ray irradiated fiber, OH is formed even after H//2 has diffused from the fiber. The formation of OH is thought to be caused by hydrogen atoms supplied from the 11. 9 mT-hfs hydrogen-associated defects.
