This article demonstrates with the help of diagrams a practical approach towards the problem of obtaining reliability data in power stations, and also refers to the results of studies conducted by the Unterausschuss Kraftweksfehlerstatistik fuer Wasserkraftwerke (Subcommitte on Power Station Faults Statistics for Hydro Stations) of the Verband der Elektrizitaetswerke Oesterreichs (Association of Austria's Electricity Undertakings) as well as by the Donaukraftwerke AG, Tauernkraftwerke AG and Draukraftwerke AG.
