Differential phase shifters (DPS) are widely used in a variety of microwave devices. When these devices are implemented in a microstrip configuration their potential capabilities are not fully used. The design of broadband differential phase shifters (PS) based on weakly coupled microstrip lines with multiple electrical lengths based on a Y-section are examined. The purpose of the present study is to propose broadband PS designs with an arbitrary given phase shift in the form of a Y-junction for quarter-wave, loosely coupled microstrip lines.
