摘要
The cusped breaking mechanism of interfacial waves is investigated in this study both theoretically and experimentally. Experimental observations suggest that the cusped breaking of interfacial waves is caused by a deformation of density interface due to the concentrated vorticies which appear in an entrained layer beneath the density interface. It was further confirmed numerically that the generation of the concentrated vortices is due to the shear instability in the entrained layer.
