摘要
This is a collection of 18 papers on the possibilities of stopping the growth in the use of energy in the United States. Part I examines what the authors presently know about consumption, pollution, and technology of energy, primarily electricity. Part II explores the possibilities for reducing energy consumption through better design and economic policies. Part III considers more direct regulatory approaches, and the economic and social consequences of conservation. The book is based upon papers presented at a conference held in Vermont in January, 1972.
