Measurements are reported of the breakdown times in rod- plane gaps in air, when the breakdown follows the glow corona. The digital computer calculations agree well with the dirft time of positive ions. The measurement as well as the calculation confirm the theory that the space charge, divided in several parts, are drifting from the rod to the plane. According to the calculations, secondary effects take place near the cathode. The breakdown times are about 1000 Usec to 2000 Usec for a gap distance of 25 cm and voltages of 115 kv to 135 kv.
