摘要:
The results of a study of vacuum feedthrough insulators with metal shields on the surfaces of the insulating layers are presented. The tests were performed on an electron accelerator with an accelerating voltage of 0. 5-1. 8 Mv, a diode current of 6-25 ka, and a voltage-pulse duration of 40-100 nsec. Optimal shield dimensions were found that provided breakdown electric-field strengths of 100-200 kv/cm averaged over the dielectric. The insulators operated as cutoff dischargers. The use of shields increased the breakdown voltage by a factor of 1. 7 and increased the reliability of the insulators.
