In its taconite mining and pelletizing operations in Minnesota, the Erie Mining Co. produces annually 10. 3 million tons of pellets from 90,000 tpd of tachonite ore, thus has to dispose of over 21 million tons of tailings/year. Paper describes the experiments in revegetation of slopes of two basins containing 235 million tons of tailings.
