In order to refine the as-cast microstructure of a TiAl alloy based alloy with a grain size of approximately 1000 µm, a multiple-stage heat treatment was carried out and a fine fully lamellar microstructure (FFL) with a grain size of 10-20 µm was obtained. This treatment route includes pretreatment in the single α field, cyclical treatment and aging in the α+γ field and solution treatment in the α field again. The final refining result appears to be influenced by the aging length.
