Almost every shipyard is involved with labor standards, either as part of an incentive program or for work method analysis. Far less common is the application of standard data as an integral part of production planning and control. This paper addresses the higher-level standards application, and focuses on standards for production scheduling. The presentation is based on the author's involvement in a number of projects in several shipyards.
