ADVANCES IN THE TECHNOLOGY OF FLUID-SAND IN THE PRODUCTION OF CORES AND MOULDS.

After outlining major differences between Supin-Flo fluid-sand (which has a durable foam-structure) and other fluid sands used for coremaking and mold production, the authors consider other characteristics of sands bonded according to their firm's Patented method. Particular reference is made to a series of experiments conducted to examine factors which affect the fluidity of the sand-mix, in order to indicate means of control which should be adopted to ensure complete filling of a corebox or mold-box and, hence, optimum properties of the finished core or mold-component.
