This volume contains 33 papers reporting results of research programs conducted by various companies and laboratories, most of them under ERDA sponsorship, devoted to coal conversion. Subjects covered include coal liquefaction, coal gasification, desulfurization, hydrocracking, extraction, fluidized-bed combustion, etc. Evaluation and assessment of synthetic fuels made of coal for applications in jet engines are also considered. A great part of papers also include economic consideration. Bibliography data at end of each article. Most papers are abstracted and indexed separately.
