The paper discusses basic epoxy chemistry, outlining the properties of resins and hardeners, and the effects of modifiers such as accelerators, diluents and fillers. Factors that affect joint performance are summarized and the paper outlines several aspects of research carried out to investigate suitable methods for testing epoxy resins and gives some epoxy resin properties, with particular reference to concrete/concrete bonding. 12 refs.
