摘要：
During the last thirty years, one of the biggest advances relevant to navigation, surveying and geodesy has been the development of inertial systems. The article discusses the basic principles involved in inertial navigation, and the non-aerospace applications now being developed. Applications include those in undertaken, oil well, land and road survey, and in space-launch vehicles.
