The effect of thermal cycling between the M//f and A//f temperatures on the thermal hysteresis, the temperature dependence, and the morphology of the martensitic transformation in a Cu-Zn-Al alloy was studied. It showed that as the hysteresis behavior of cyclic transformation changed, the M//s and A//f temperatures shifted to higher levels while the M//f and A//s temperatures remained constant. The amount of martensite undergoing cyclic transformation decreased. These changes appeared to be at a maximum at 300 cycles.
