摘要：
The concept of traceability is developed in the general context of national and international measurement systems. The distinction is drawn between measurement standards and specification standards, and reference is made to legal aspects of metrology. These themes are further developed in relation to ionizing radiation and radionuclide metrology, and present and future requirements for traceability are discussed with particular reference to the UK situation. 22 refs.
