Young's moduli of some sintered hard materials (WC-CO alloys and hot pressed Si//3N//4) were measured. Young's modulus of WC-Co alloys decreases with increases in Co content. In hot pressed Si//3N//4, Young's modulus along the axis parallel to the hot pressing direction is larger than that vertical to the hot pressing direction by seven to ten percent.
