摘要
The Temiscaming site of Tembec Inc. is a large industrial complex that houses two pulp mills (sulphite pulp and BCTMP), a paperboard mill, three chemical plants and a wastewater treatment plant. The goal of the Quality Alert project is to develop soft sensors for efficient monitoring and optimization of the various processes, and for on-line predictions of quality parameters. The project is made possible by multivariate analysis techniques (PCA, PLS) in combination with a process data historian. The Quality Alert modelling engineers have been working since the summer of 1998 to develop models, study historical data, improve process understanding and stability, diagnose upsets, facilitate troubleshooting and predict quality.
