摘要
Relaxation methods can be conventionally used to solve the electromagnetic vector field problems, in particular, those involving Legendre's equation. The solution lies in obtaining the values of the harmonic functions numerically which are required in many fundamental problems of great importance. It reduces considerably the labor that is required for analytical solution and much needed numerical evaluation of those functions. The results yielded by this direct and easy method are found to agree very well with those obtained by other more laborious methods.
